The Southern Consort of Voices invites audiences to a contemplative Easter‑season performance with Gregorio Allegri’s achingly beautiful Miserere Mei, Deus at the heart of the programme. Moving through the centuries, Allegri’s legendary 17th century work is matched in intensity by Tavener’s Song for Athene.
The concert also features an excerpt from Thomas Tallis’s Lamentations of Jeremiah, and the expressive choral storytelling of Thomas Tomkins’s setting of When David Heard.
